About our workshop

Born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama, Alicia Engram began to love music at an early age. Alicia’s musical journey began when she joined her elementary, middle and high school choruses. From there, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in music. She moved to Nashville, TN in 2004. Alicia Engram holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Tennessee State University. Alicia received her Orff certification from Belmont University in 2017. Alicia began her teaching career in Nashville, TN serving as a music specialist for several Nashville public schools where she taught choral, elementary music, show choir and Orff.

She has over 12 years of professional musical experience as a music educator, performer, and songwriter/arranger. She started the first Orff Ensemble in Metro Nashville Public Schools during the 2018-19 school year. As part of her continued dedication to teaching, Alicia teaches private vocal and guitar lessons at the Judah’s Music Academy in Nashville. Alicia currently teaches general music and Orff at Eagle View Elementary School in Nashville, TN. Most recently Alicia was selected as a CMA Foundation Music Teacher of Excellence because of her dedication to students, passion for teaching and her heart for meeting the needs of every student. Alicia plans to continue to advocate for music education by creating diverse resources for both music educators and students.
